What file indexing does is it makes a searchable keyword index from all your files and documents on your computer and lets you search for them without knowing the name of the file you need. This is very taxing on your computer. You can disable file indexing by going to start menu/my computer/right click on C: Local Disk/properties/uncheck allow Indexing Service to index this drive for fast file searching.
